Hackers linked mining of NFT tokens

Due to the growing popularity of the crypto market and the development of the metaverse, NFT tokens have become the main distributor of malware for 2021, leaving torrents and adult sites behind.

In the first place in terms of the number of victims of intruders is the inhabitants of Russia.

This is stated by Kommersant referring to ESET research. According to their calculations, the number of cryptocurrency threats in Russia is 11.2%.

The peak of activity was observed from September to December 2021 and reached 12.3% of the total number of victims worldwide.
