Chinese teams may not come to South Korea to participate in the 2022 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational due to coronavirus restrictions. This was announced by LNG Esports mid leader Kim Doinb Tei San during a personal broadcast.
According to him, this is the only option in which the teams will be able to play in the LPL summer split. The bottom line is that after arriving in Shanghai, the team will have to be in isolation for 21 days, and the rules of the Chinese league do not allow playing from hotel rooms. If Riot Games allows the team from China to play MSI remotely, then this will solve all the problems. There is a technical possibility for this – ping to Korean servers is about 30 ms.
MSI 2022 will be held from May 10 to 29 in Busan. The representative of China in the tournament will be determined later – the decisive matches of the playoffs of the LPL spring split will take place at the end of April.
