How to enable/disable dark mode on Geeko

This is one of the new features of the site: Geeko now has a dark mode, which can be activated with a single click. Explanations.

You may have noticed this when logging into our new site. Geeko now has a button that allows you to activate or deactivate a dark mode (dark mode, in English). This is located at the very top, at the main menu level, next to the site’s search bar. It is symbolized by a half moon when you are in light mode, or a sun, in dark mode.

To activate it, nothing could be simpler, just click on said sun or half-moon. The setting will be saved and you should find the interface you have chosen on each new connection.

If your computer or smartphone is already in dark mode, be aware that dark mode will be activated by default on Geeko. However, it is possible to switch back to light mode whenever you wish.

The benefits of a dark mode

While for many this is purely an aesthetic choice, dark mode helps reduce exposure to white light, which is partly made up of blue light – and which is considered by many specialists to be harmful to the eyes. and likely to partially disrupt the biological clock. The dark mode therefore makes it possible to reduce this exposure and to attenuate its effects on sleep cycles. It also allows the eyes to rest. A darker display is indeed more comfortable for evening reading.

You are of course free to alternate between the two interfaces throughout the day, if you feel like it!
