Instagram – Which hashtags improve your results

Please note – you will need Instagram Insights, you need to have an Instagram business account to access it.

To analyze a specific post, open it and click View Insights below it. If all goes well, you’ll see tons of likes, comments, shares, and saves, making it easy to see which posts your audience likes the most (and what’s coming in the future).

After analyzing an individual post, evaluate the overall level of engagement. It is expressed as a percentage of your followers. According to research from Iconosquare, the average engagement rate on Instagram is 4.7%; however, it all depends on the industry.

Before tracking engagement rates, find out what the average engagement rate of your competitors is. Knowing it, you will be able to evaluate your own work.

Influencer Marketing Hub has a free Influencer Calculator that will calculate an account’s engagement rate based on the last 12 posts.

Using the right hashtags on Instagram will help you reach a wider audience and get your content in front of the right people. Hashtags seem like a mystery if you don’t track performance.

Also, if you’re using a maximum of 30 hashtags per post, it’s hard to tell which ones are maximizing your impressions and which aren’t.

Instagram Insights is a great tool to measure the performance of hashtags on your business account. Start with a separate post. In the Discovery section, you’ll see impressions broken down into several categories, including From Hashtags. It shows how many users have attracted a particular hashtag.

Ideally, you should use different hashtags in each post to test their effectiveness. This will help you identify patterns. Certain sets of hashtags may work better than others, and if so, you’ll know which hashtags to use more often.

However, it’s hard to pinpoint which hashtags are generating the most engagement. This is where the free Instagram verification tool from Union Metrics comes in handy.

This tool shows you your top hashtags and determines which ones to use more often to reach your ideal audience.

Also, don’t limit yourself to using hashtags exclusively on posts. You can also use up to 10 of them on your Instagram stories.
