Deep Trouble is one of many side quests available in the first section of Horizon Forbidden West. This one is based in the Crimson Narrows, a mine in the far north in the first open-world section of the game. After getting there, talk to Korvund to start rescuing the miners from the flooded mine.

After traversing the first section of Crimson Narrows, players should hear the two miners chatting on a relatively safe elevated platform. Talk to the miners to continue the questline. One of the miners is too badly injured to leave with the currently flooded mine, so players will need to release the water from the mine.

To do this, players will need to reach the inner part of the mine, defeat burrowers in the main open area, and then unplug the blockage with explosives. Aloy will have to swim through the flooded part of the mine to reach the cleared area. Once here, she can use the stealth mushrooms around the cave and the large pools of water to their advantage to defeat the burrowers.

After defeating burrowers in the open area, players will need to follow the mining cart tracks to the next pass through another flooded area. In this area, players will need to use the pullcaster to go through the structure and reach the minecart full of explosives. Once here, activate the explosives to clear the mine.

Then players can either fight the burrower and scrapper that spawn once it’s been emptied, or simply escape from that room. Once done, return to the miners and let them know it is safe to leave the mine. This will complete the quest.
