US broadcasters CNN and Bloomberg halted broadcasts in Russia after Russian President Vladimir Putin upheld a prison sentence of up to 15 years for “spreading false information” about the war.

While the occupation in Ukraine continued, US-based CNN and  Bloomberg channels decided to stop their broadcasts in Russia, after Russian President Vladimir Putin  ordered those who “spread fake information” about the war in Ukraine to be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison  .

Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait also said in a written statement, “It is with great regret that we have decided to cease our activities in Russia.” used the phrase.

Russian President Putin signed the decree that provides prison sentences for those who spread fake news about the Ukraine war.
