Snapchat lets you change your username almost ten years after its launch!

Snapchat will now allow you to change your old username without affecting aspects of your account, such as your friends list, Snapcode, or memory.

Snapchat has been around for over a decade and it still lacks one important feature: it offers the ability to edit usernames, which can be easily used on social media apps like Instagram, Twitter, and more. Is. not anymore! The messaging platform has now added a ‘Change Username’ feature, where you can finally change your Snapchat username if you are too embarrassed or bored with the existing one.

According to the platform, this feature will be applicable for all iOS and Android users globally from February 23. Once a user changes their username, they will be notified that they can only do so once a year.

Users can choose a new username if one is still available without affecting aspects of their account such as their friend list, snap codes, snap ratings, memories, etc.

To change their username, users can tap the Bitmoji icon in the top left corner of their camera and navigate to their profile section, where they can select the Settings gear icon in the upper right corner.

Clicking on “Username” will show them a blue “Change Username” option. From there, users can enter their desired new username and click “Next” to confirm the requested change.

According to the platform, Snap users have been demanding for years to change their handles. This option has also been taken into account in the past, as the app’s reverse engineer, Alessandro Paluzzi, noted a feature in October 2021 showing that Snap started working on allowing users to change their usernames Is.

Last week, Snapchat released some new features along with changing the username. Among them is “TicketMatcher Mini,” a new partnership with Ticketmaster that will allow users to find events on their Snap Map based on their preferences.

The platform also recently announced the introduction of mid-role ads in the story feature for influential Snap stars. This new program, which is currently in its early beta phase, will share revenue with creators based on their level of engagement and posting frequency.
