Google designers have announced changes to the Chrome logo. Most browser users are unlikely to notice the differences, but they are there, and a certain feeling was invested in them.
The last time Google changed the Chrome icon was 8 years ago in 2014. Compared to the previous version of the logo, the blue circle in the middle has been enlarged, all colors have become brighter and more saturated, shadow effects have been removed and a gradient has been added. Older versions of the logo were created with the effect of volume and refraction of light.
Designers note another feature of the new logo. They found that the previous combination of green and red colors produced an unpleasant color vibration. We managed to get rid of it by adding a barely noticeable gradient, that is, a smooth softening of the colors.
The new Chrome logo has been adapted for different platforms according to their design language. So, in Windows 10 and 11, the icon has a smoother look, in Chrome OS, sharper colors, and in macOS, a light volume effect has been added.
