What will the MacBook and iMac look like in 2022? First details about their processor

The Taiwanese edition of the Commercial Times has published details about the next Apple silicon family of processors and the Cupertino company‘s plans for the near future.

According to reports, the M2 processor will be released in the second half of 2022. It has already received the code name Staten, will be manufactured on a 4-nm process, and computers with it will be on sale in the second half of 2022., The M2 will also have two modifications – M2 Pro and M2 Max. Devices with them will go on sale in the first half of 2023.

Apple expects the M2 generation to be in use within 18 months of release before being replaced by the 3nm M3.

Earlier this news was reported by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. Apple will release four Macs next year: the affordable MacBook Pro, the bigger and more powerful iMac, the redesigned MacBook Air and the Mac mini. It is highly likely that most of them will be equipped with an M2 processor.
